Intended use: S9 is an exogenous mammalian source of cytochrome-P450 enzymes. When delivered to the test system in the presence of NADP and cofactors for NADPH-supprted oxidation (i.e. S9 mix), P450-mediated metabolism of potential carcinogens may result in the generation of metabolites that exhibit activities that are not observed in the parental material.
